The lighthouse is a good example because the image is relatively small and shows some smooth areas (the clouds) and some sharp edges (the lighthouse itself). Although the quality of this image isn't perfect to show the benefits of our technique, it's still a widely used image for comparison in the image scaling research community.

In cubic mode resizing, the edges exhibit some "ringing" which is a phenomenon that occurs in many other resizing techniques. In addition to that, the image looses sharpness.
The image generated by Imagiris doesn't have ringing at the edges and the sharpness is maintained.

Looking at the pixels, the ringing is obvious (what we call ringing is the bright pixels boxes that appear, in this case bright grey pixels near the bars).
Additionally, the image looks blurred since contrary to the original image now the transition from the sky to the bar is too progressive.
In Imagiris, the colors are well spread and don't form ringing areas. In addition the sharpness is maintained.
